My everyday handbag makeup essentials.

July 8, 2014

Today I realised I had no makeup in my handbag. It was frightening I didn’t even have a lip balm and my lips where dry…yikes.
So when I got home I decided to sort out my makeup bag for daily essentials.

My Essential Handbag picks

Lip Balm – O’ how I love a good lip product. Sadly my all time faverite has been discontinued, boo hoo! So now am on the look out for a replacement. Am currently trying out Omorovicza Protecting Lip Balm, Expensive at £32 but very good plumps and hydrates, although a little but to thick for my liking so takes a while too sink in.
In the summer I like to carry a tinted balm to add bit of colour to my face as I tend to not wear as much make up, currently am using Clairns’ Instant Light Natural Perfecter, £18  there are a few colours to choose from and all enhance your natural lip colour, lovely!

Powder – Hot and humid summer days means oily patches… yuk… so I carry a translucent pressed powder to mattify and de-slick my face thought the day. ‘Charlotte Tilbury’s’ Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder is finelly milled so doesn’t cake up.  In the winter I find I need something like a pressed powder foundation to add a bit of coverage later on in the day too, Mac Studio Fix Powder or Stila Illuminating Powder foundation, £18, (on BeautyBay at moment fir £14,40)

Concealer – A must for under eyes and ad blemishes i carry a  small cream one either Collection Lasting Perfection, £4.19 Superdrug or Charlotte Tilbury’s Retoucher, £25

Multi Purpose Balm – This is a balm that does everything, moisturizes lips, cuticles, any dry patches I like a natural one. Current faverite is DrLipp (read more about here) £11.50 from

Travel Size Deodorant –  Great for a refresh i like Nivea Invisible so I can spray on knowing it won’t stain my clothes.

Baby Wipes – I’ve been carrying these since my girls were born and now I cant leave the house without any in my bag. The handy little buggers are great to wipe up mess, clean sticky grubby paws,  blow snotty noses and even clean the odd grimy mark off clothes, Brilliant!
