Highstreet Hotties…

February 24, 2014

Although I love my Chanel, Tom Ford, Mac, Ellis Faas, Hourglass, Bobbi Brown, Mac makeup or Jo Malone, Origins, Aveda skincare.  I also love hitting the high street and seeing what they have to offer. Here my hot list…

Topshop have a huge range of colour and texture. They have recently just added a Matt range which is bang on trend this season (Youd expect nothing less from them!) Bonus is that they only cost £6 each they good on really well and last just as long as a top nail varnish brand.

Collection at Superdrug or Boots do the best glitter liners I have come across. They are packed full of glitter and can be used as liner or just all over lid for a bit of sparkle. They come a lots of colours too and best of all only £4.99 woop. Boots also have to offer Soap and Glory’s eyeliner pencils. They glide on smoothly blend well and so far they have brown (dupe for Mac Teddy) black, purple, blue & green. They cost a £5 or grab them when they do Christmas sets.

Eylure have a great selection of fake lashes. My faves are the demi 100 great for a any occasion. I often cut them in halve and use as corner lashes to make my eyes appear more of an almond shape. You can buy these at boots superdrug and most supermarkets. Normal £5.95 including glue which is a good one.

One of my face brands in Superdrug is MEMEME their eyeshadow quads are to die for as they are packed with pigments giving great colour payoff and super easy to blend. They are £7 each and make a great present matched with a eyeshadow blender brush. Check out there whole range though the blushers a a brilliant cheaper alternative to Benefit.
Their Dew Pots are also lovely as a cream eyeshadow base. Which brings me on to another highstreet favorite…Maybelline colour tattoo cream shadow… Amazing staying powder, bulidable colour and makes a great base for pigments, glitters and pressed shadows.

Hair Heros
Every girl should own a dry shampoo or two. If you are a busy mum its a life saver and if like me you have a bright hair colour to maintain then its a great way to shampoo less often to reduce colour fade. I love LUSH’s version its doesn’t itch my head like others  do and smells of grapefruit yum.
If you don’t already own a bottle of The Body Shops Beautifying Oil (are you crazy where have you been!?) then you need one in your life. Not only is it an amazing dry body oil prefect for holiday you can also use it in your hair as a deep treatment (who remembers the VO5 hot oils?) you can either apply to dry hair before bed and shampoo out in the morning (I find this gives the best result) or apply to wet hair in shower before you shampoo. It makes your hair soft and shine while smelling AMAZING my faves are Mango and Pink Grapefruit. It comes in all there core fragrances so there’s something for everyone.

There are so many under eye concealers out there but one I keep coming back to is The Body Shops Lighting Touch £14 it comes in 6 shades and covers under eye circles brilliantly. Applied like the picture below and you will create that lovely fresh faced glow that many models and actress’s swear by.
